HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE DURING PREGNANCY? WE WATCH IT WITH YOU, AT HOME.

High blood pressure in pregnancy can change quickly, and the warning signs are easy to miss. If your OB has told you your pressure is high, or you have a history of hypertension, Trinity OB can monitor you at home so changes are caught early. We serve Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe County.

Call 305-888-8902, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or send us a patient intake form any time.

If you think you're having an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest labor and delivery unit. This page is not medical advice and does not replace your OB.

WARNING SIGNS TO TAKE SERIOUSLY

• A headache that won't go away, even with Tylenol

• Seeing spots, flashing lights, or blurry vision

• Sudden swelling in your face, hands, or feet

• Pain under your ribs on the right side, or in your upper belly

• Sudden weight gain (more than 2 to 3 pounds in 3 days)

• Shortness of breath

• A blood pressure reading of 140/90 or higher at home

These can be signs of preeclampsia, a serious condition that needs prompt attention. Call your OB or call us.

GO TO LABOR AND DELIVERY OR CALL 911 NOW IF

• Your blood pressure is 160/110 or higher

• You have a severe headache with vision changes

• You have chest pain or can't catch your breath

• You have a seizure, or someone with you notices confusion

• You feel the baby moving much less than usual

WHAT TRINITY OB DOES AT HOME

We bring you a blood pressure monitor and scale, teach you how to use them, and track your readings digitally so nothing lives on a paper log. A specialized OB nurse reviews your numbers, checks in with you, and sends regular reports to your OB. When a reading crosses the limit your doctor sets, we act on it with your OB right away.

Once you're on service, you're assigned one dedicated Trinity nurse who stays with you the whole time, so you never have to re-explain your history. You also get our 24/7 patient hotline, staffed by labor and delivery nurses. Many patients tell us the biggest relief is knowing someone is watching the numbers with them.

WHERE WE PROVIDE CARE

All of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe County, including the Florida Keys.

WHAT IT COSTS

There is no out-of-pocket cost to you when you're covered by one of the plans listed for blood pressure monitoring on our Eligible Insurances page. We bill your insurance directly. Call us and we'll confirm your coverage before anything starts.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Call 305-888-8902 or complete the patient intake form. Care starts once we receive signed orders from your OB. If your OB has already referred you, we'll reach out to you. If not, we'll tell you exactly what to ask for.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What blood pressure is too high in pregnancy? Your OB sets your limits. In general, 140/90 or higher is considered high in pregnancy and should be reported. 160/110 or higher is an emergency.

I don't have symptoms. Do I still need monitoring? Preeclampsia often has no symptoms at first. That is exactly why home monitoring matters. If your OB has flagged your pressure, monitoring is how changes get caught before they become dangerous.

Does this continue after the baby is born? Yes, when your OB orders it. Blood pressure problems can appear or get worse in the weeks after delivery, so Trinity provides blood pressure monitoring for up to 6 weeks postpartum when your OB requests it. Your part is to keep taking your readings after the baby arrives. Your nurse stays in touch to help you stay on track.
